CompTIA is developing a new advanced security certification exam to follow the current Security+ certification. The Advanced Security Certification is intended for professionals with 10 years IT experience; including at least five years of hands on Security experience.
CompTIA is currently seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide assistance in the CompTIA Advanced Security Item Development Workshop November 1st – 5th, 2010. Comptia says "It is the on-the-job experience of SMEs that will provide the CompTIA Advanced Security exam with the precise skills standards required to perform the job of an advanced security practitioner. SME participation provides validity to the certifications used by employers, consumers, IT and vertical industries, making them widely recognized and a valued benchmark for candidates."
SME Requirements:
- Must have at least 5 years of experience working in enterprise level security management.
- Must have strong communication and written English skills (grammar/spelling)
- Must have the ability to commit to a 5-day (8 hours per day) workshop.
- Must agree to sign a non-disclosure agreement enforced for a period of three years (NDA).
- Must submit an updated resume that highlights your enterprise level security technology experience to be considered for this role.
No word on when the Advanced Security Certification will be available.
